The Antiracist Classroom began in 2017 as a space for art and design students who want to find, create, and engage in opportunities for student activism around issues of racism and white supremacy in the classroom and in design practices.

To this end, we have curated spaces, ways of working, and relationships through which artists and designers, especially, can practice cultivating anti-racist creative practices — from our actual classrooms to our studios to our neighborhoods. Since the group’s inception, the website has served as a hub for information about events and cataloguing our work: sub-pages for major events like Reconstructing Practice, a conference we organized in 2018. The structure and much of the existing content was designed by me, but various other team members have contributed new content since 2019. The live site is available here.
